Description
NA The U.S. Army will be conductiong a briefing to industry to define the schedule, requirements and anticipated basis of award for the next acquisition of the Thermal Weapon Sight (AN/PAS-13) and Driver's Vision Enhancer (AN/VAS-5). The briefing is schedule d for 21 March 2002 at 9:00 AM EST at the PM NV/RSTA Conference Room, second floor, building 399, Fort Belvoir, VA. It is anticipated that a draft RFP will be issued in August 2002, the final RFP to be released September 2002, proposals due in October 200 2, and contract award(s) in January 2003. The anticipated acquisition strategy for the award(s) is as follows: (1) full and open competition; (2) up to three firm-fixed-price awards may be made on a best value basis; (3) the contract(s) shall be three -year multi-year with two option years (option quantities shall also be on the three basic program years) (requirements can cover Fiscal Years 03 through 07); (4) all SLIN's for the Driver's Vision Enhancer, and the Light and Medium Thermal Weapon Sight m ust be bid. The total basic requirements are anticipated to be approximately 4,500 each Light Thermal Weapon Sight, 1,400 each Medium Thermal Weapon Sight and 2,500 each Driver's Vision Enhancers. One-on-one (face to face) sessions with potential offerors will immediately follow the conference. The purpose of the one-on-one sessions is to ascertain the capability and interest of potential offerors, and receive the benefit of industry comments. T he one-on-one sessions will be limited to companies who could be considered as potential prime contractors. These sessions should not be used by potential offerors to market their products. These sessions are not a commencement of negotiations. Each ses sion will be limited to approximately 60 minutes. Companies interested in participationg in this conference should contact the individuals listed below no later than 18 March 2002. Requests must include company point of contact and the number of people a ttending the conference. Questions or issues that you would like to have addressed at the conference should also be included in the request.
