Description
The Perinatology Research Branch (PRB) of the NICHD is seeking a contractor to provide genotyping services. The contractor should have the capability to carry out high-throughput genotyping for approximately 4,000 DNA samples for polymorphisms in 100 candidate genes. We solicit information from organizations that have the capability to provide the services. The Perinatology Research Branch seeks a contractor capable of: 1) design genotyping assays for single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) at specified regions in the human genome; 2) perform the assays on samples provided by the PRB. The samples will be genomic DNA that has been amplified using the whole genome amplification (also known as the Primer Extension Preamplification) method; 3) input the genotyping data into database tables with a structure specified by the PRB; 4) perform quality control with negative and positive controls as well as repeating a random subset (30%) of the assays; 5) provide the PRB with all the raw data (including any gel images or other electronic data) as hard copies and in electronic format; and 6) assist the Branch with the statistical analysis of data towards publication. The purpose of this synopsis is to determine whether there are sources that can perform the work described above. Capability Statements should be submitted within 45 days of the publication of this synopsis to Mr. Harvey Shifrin, Contracting Officer, NICHD, NIH 6100 Executive Blvd., Suite 7A07, MSC 7510, Bethesda, Maryland (or if sending by overnight carrier 6100 Executive Blvd, Rockville, Maryland 20852). Telephone 301-496-4611, FAX 301-402-3676. E-mail submissions are acceptable (hs35h@nih.gov). Previous experience in providing genotype services, novel cost-effective approaches to high-throughput genotyping as well as experience in the conduction of association studies are desirable.
