Description
NA Contact: U.S Army Communications Electronic Command (CECOM), Intelligence and Information Warfare Directorate (I2WD), Kim Black, ph: (732) 427-2728, email: kim.black@mail1.monmouth.army.mil Description: This is a pre-solicitation REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) synopsis. The CECOM I2WD is currently conducting market research only. No award is intended as a result of this synopsis nor does the Government intend to pay for information received . The I2WD is interested in receiving information with regard to existing sense through the wall technologies that can be leveraged as the basis for a new US Army development program. The STTW program will provide users with the capability to detect, locate, and ?see? personnel behind visible obstructions such as walls and doors comprised of various materials from a standoff distance. This system has direct application to both US Army a nd Special Forces requirements for military operations in urban terrain (MOUT) or hostage recovery operations. The STTW will enable users to identify the location of hostile personnel within a room under various climatic conditions. Responses to this RFI should be no more than 5 - 10 single sided pages. The responses should describe the technology underlying the design of the candidate STTW system, existing or projected performance capabilities, availability of any prototype hardware (i.e., brassboards, commercial off the shelf hardware), and a preliminary schedule for design and fabrication of a prototype system suitable for testing in a field environment. The response to the RFI should also include any test data against various str uctures (if available) and a rough order of magnitude cost estimate for development and/or fabrication of a single prototype system. The Government is not interested in general company capability information and will not accept such submissions. Submissions will be accepted via e-mail only and should be sent to the addressee above. Questions concerning this RFI may be directed to the above mentioned POC via email or telephonically. All responses should be received by COB 22 March 2002.
