- Description
- I. The U.S. Railroad Retirement Board (RRB), an independent Federal Government agency, headquarters located: 844 North Rush Street, Chicago, IL 60611-2092, seeks sources to provide a commercial-off-the-shelf scanner bar coding software package. The product offered shall satisfy the following minimum requirements. 1. The Railroad Retirement Board seeks to acquire the capability to add scanner readable bar codes to printed documents. The printed bar code needs to be formatted from data added to the document by the user or via merge programming prior to printing the document. The product should be able to be integrated with Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel documents, Fillable Adobe Acrobat Reader PDF documents, Omniform forms and other VBA or VB compatible document preparation software. 2. Print capability may be through the use of fonts or ActiveX Controls and must be compatible with a variety of laser jet printers. 3. The product must be capable of printing at least the following bar codes according to specification standards for each: Code 39(Normal), Code 39(Full ASCII), Code 93, Code 128 and PostNet. II. ? Companies having the ability to provide a scanner bar coding software package are requested to provide written notification (3 copies) (including telephone number for a point of contact) and detailed data regarding the proposed software within 15 calendar days from the date of publication of this synopsis. Potential vendors should respond with technical literature, pricing details and information describing the degree to which they can comply with the requirements outlined above. RRB does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this request or to pay for the information solicited. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR OFFERS OR BIDS. Please note: Certification of compliance with EIT Accessibility Standards - Under Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (29 U.S.C. 794d) acquisitions of Electronics and Information Technology (EIT) supplies and services must meet the accessibility standards as set forth Vendors shall be required to complete the certificate, and certify which accessibility standards their offered EIT products and/or services meet. The vendor shall provide any other information the contractor determines appropriate and relevant. Mark outside of the envelope ?RFI2002-C-01 Enclosed? and offeror?s name and address.
