- Description
- Construct and install a single Aid to Navigation pile structure in Settler Cove near the town of Port Lions on Kodiak Island, Alaska. Remove and dispose of one existing single pile structure and concrete foundation, which is leaning at approximately 20 degrees. New structure is to be built using new 12-3/4? outside diameter galvanized steel pipe pile, new-galvanized steel ladders, and Government furnished platform (approximate location: 57-52-09.35 N, 152-51-31.97 W). Work includes fabrication of all ladders and connectors, and installation of same. Government to provide platform for Contractor to install. Performance period: Work on this project shall be completed between June 20, 2002 and July 10th, 2002. The estimated cost range is between $25,000 and $100,000. See the solicitation for bonding requirements. This procurement is issued on an unrestricted basis pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration program, public law 100-656, as implemented by the OFPP Policy Directive and Test Plan dated 8/31/89. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code is 234110 and the applicable size standard is $27.5 million dollars in annual receipts for the past three years. All responsible sources may submit a quote. Request for Quotation Packages will be available on or about 14 March 2002. Quotes may be mailed or faxed, to be received by this office no later than close of business 22 April 2002. For minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises; The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small Business Utilization (OSBDU), has a program to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontractor at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guarantee of the bid bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Leading Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide for accounts receivable. The maximum line of credit is $500,000 dollars.
