- Description
- The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) (CODE PMW 156) is currently planning a contract for the production of Navigation Sensor System Interface (NAVSSI) for various classes of ships. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) number is 334511. The requirements for this system are specified in a draft Statement of Work, draft drawing packages, and other material which will be posted on the SPAWAR Business Opportunities Page (SPAWAR E-Commerce website) the week of February 4th-8th, 2002. The planned contract vehicle is a full & open competition FAR Part 12 Commercial Contract with an Indefinite-Delivery-Indefinite-Quantity (IDIQ) ordering arrangement covering FY02-FY03 requirements and possibly through FY05 requirements. This requirement is anticipated to result in a contract award for more than one industry partner. Interested offerors shall submit a Capabilities Statement not later than February 14th, 2002 discussing their ability to meet these particular Navy requirements. The Capabilities Statement will discuss the offeror's experience and capabilities in the areas of (a) experience with production of US Navy Shipboard programs including standard 19" rack assemblies, qualifications for MIL-STD-901D and on-site factory acceptance procedures (b) Navigation systems interface experience, examples including Ships Inertials, Ships networks, Ships logs, Tomahawk weapon, Global Positioning System and software testing (e.g., built in test) (c) past performance information relative to cost, specifications, capabilities, delivery lead-times, ability to surge at annual rate of 50 racks, etc. for similar equipment. The Capabilities statement should be limited to no more than two pages double-spaced. Any commercial brochures or currently existing marketing material may be submitted with the statement. Each statement should note the company's full name, address, size (large or small), whether it is in a HUBZone, and its ownership status (woman- or minority-owned). A draft solicitation is expected to be posted to the SPAWAR Business Opportunities Page on or about February 14th, 2002 under "Future Opportunity" and Solicitation Number N00039-02-R-0008.
