Description
THE ABOVE ADDRESS IS INCORRECT! Please use the following address to submit any correspondence: Division of Research Acquisition, NIH, 6100 Executive Boulevard, Room 6E01, Bethesda, Maryland 20892-7540. The National Institute on Aging, (NIA), National Institutes of Health (NIH), has a requirement to develop, maintain and distribute a colony of aged mice of various genotypes for use by investigators in studies of aging. During the nine-year period of performance of this cost reimbursement contract, the expected colony population will range from 8,000 in the first year, to a peak of 36,000 in years 3 through 7, then declining to near 0 by the ninth year. This colony shall be divided into two approximately equal and separate segments maintained behind independent barriers, pathogen and parasite free, for the total nine year period. The Offeror should have facilities suitable for development and maintenance of the mice strains required for this project, along with experience in breeding, rearing, and maintaining and distributing animal colonies of similar magnitude and having similar health and environmental requirements. The Offeror should also have an awareness of problems and complications likely to be observed in the conduct of this project and methods to address them, particularly, the knowledge of the importance of maintenance of the high standard of health and genetic purity. THE SOLICITATION WILL BE AVAILABLE ELECTRONICALLY ONLY. It will be available on the following website: http://ocm.od.nih.gov/drc/rfp.htm on or about 15 calendar days from the date of the publication of this synopsis. OFFERORS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ROUTINELY CHECKING THIS WEBSITE FOR ANY POSSIBLE SOLICITATION AMENDMENTS THAT MAY BE ISSUED. NO INDIVIDUAL NOTIFICATION OF ANY AMENDMENTS WILL BE PROVIDED. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered. No collect calls will be accepted.
