Description
ISSUE DATE: 01/23/2002. Contractor shall provide all labor, material, supervision, transportation, and disposal necessary for Lead Paint Remediation at the U. S. Coast Guard Group Portland, Doubling Point Light Keepers Quarters, Bath, (Sagadahoc County), Maine. The work includes but is not limited to; chemical stripping of all lead paint off all keepers quarters doors, jambs, casing trim, cased openings, baseboards, leaded painted cellar slab, and the exterior brick storage shed slab; remove lead painted cellar stairs and replacing with new; chemically stripping lead off cellar rubble foundation walls and exterior 4 foot high rubble foundation wall; chemically strip lead paint off exterior storage shed cornice, fascia, and rake board trim; install new plywood on the interior of storage shed foundation walls; remove existing carpet in designated areas and install new carpet, and incidental related work. Please note addendum for carpet replacement incorporated in General Scope of Work (page 2) section. This addendum is not contained in the specification or drawing attachments. Solicitation package will be available on 06 February 2002. The date for receipt of proposals is 15 March 2002 at 4:00 pm local time. Estimated cost range is between $25,000 and $100,000. A bidders list is no longer available. This project is issued pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program, and is unrestricted. THE FOLLOWING NOTICE IS PROVIDED AS INFORMATION FOR MINORITY, WOMEN-OWNED, AND DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS ENTERPRISES: The Dept of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are available under the DOT Short-term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
