- Description
- The U S Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota, is looking for sources who can provide one or possibly two types of coagulation instruments for Protime/INR testing. The first requirement is for a ?point of care? (POC) instrument to be used in our Warfarin Clinic to enable PT/INR testing to be performed by the VA Staff in the clinic itself. The POC instrument must be user friendly and provide simple operation to include easy cartridge preparation and insertion. It must have sufficient memory to store patient testing data. Provide connectivity to the VA owned ?Rals-Plus? in order to provide downloading of patient test results into the VA?s VistA electronic patient records systems. Bi-directional interface is preferred to allow for uploading of patient results, QC, etc., and also to allow downloads for operator lists and re-certification dates. POC PT/INR instrumentation must provide both electronic and liquid quality controls (QC), QC lock-out, new lot lock-outs, requirement for input of Operator ID and Patient ID, and comment codes. Instrument must provide accurate, precise test results (ability to match the main laboratory test), and have the ability for calibration and adjustment if needed. The second requirement is for an ?in-home? instrument that can be sent home with a patient so that the patient can do his/her own testing at home. Instrument must be user friendly and simple to operate. The in-home instrumentation must provide quality control, and have sufficient memory to store patient test results for downloading when patient returns to VA Warfarin Clinic. Instrument must provide accurate, precise test results, i.e. capable of matching the main laboratory test. The instrument that the patients take home could possibly be the same as the one for POC Warfarin Clinic use. Instrument may be ?CLIA waived? for home testing. This notice is considered a ?Sources Sought? solicitation. No formal bid documents are available. All responsible sources that can meet the VA Medical Center?s requirements, and are capable of providing the items as listed above, are requested to respond to this solicitation on your company?s letterhead or bid form by submitting pricing, technical proposals and descriptive literature.
