Description
Special Notice: This is NOT a Request for Proposal (RFP), but a Request for Information (RFI) for English language television programming for airing on a closed circuit cable television system. If a RFP is released, it will be synopsized in the FBO. It is the potential offeror's responsibility to monitor this site for the release of any solicitation or synopsis. The U.S. Air Force (USAF), 35 CONS/LGCB, Misawa Contracting Office, Japan, is currently researching potential sources for English language television programming. The 35th Communication Squadron is interested in receiving selected English language programming on a direct feed, via satellite downlink, coaxial, or fiber optic cabling to the existing base CATV head end equipment. Types of programming sought include, but are not limited to, live feeds of American network television and premium American network channels such as National Geographic, Animal Planet, Discovery Channel, CNNI, Cinemax, HBO, Showtime, Comedy Central, TNT, MTV, Nickelodeon, VH-1, or similar programming. Provider must be able to demonstrate that the signals provided to the base CATV head end can be received and signal levels are acceptable. Vendor provided equipment (if required for reception) must be compatible with existing CATV infrastructure. The 35th Communications Squadron will continue to own and maintain the existing closed circuit CATV infrastructure. Provider will not be responsible for the signal after the base CATV head end. Provider must also be able to provide all agreed upon programming for the duration of the contract. If programming provided is episodic, it must be received in consecutive order and on a fixed schedule. Industry firms capable of providing the required services are invited to submit a response to this notice. Firms should identify/submit a copy of their GSA schedule. Firms should also include literature, brochures, price lists, and capability summaries directly addressing their ability to meet the aforementioned needs. Interested firms are requested to respond NLT 8 February 2002, stating their business size, NAICS code, and identifying a corporate point of contact. Interested sources should respond to: 35th Contracting Squadron, 35 CONS/LGCB, Misawa Air base, Japan. THE SUBMISSION OF THIS INFORMATION IS FOR PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY AND IS NOT TO BE CONSTRUED AS A COMITMENT BY THE GOVERNMENT TO PROCURE ANY SERVICES, NOR FOR THE GOVERNMENT TO PAY FOR THE INFORMATION RECEIVED.
