Description
One order for 200 Kits. 8010-01-218-0857 UI: KT EPOXY PRIMER COATING KIT: DESCRIPTION In accordance with Military Specification MIL-PRF-85582C, dated September 30, 1997. QPL QUALIFICATION REQUIRED: QPL-85582-4, dated 30 December 1994 and Amendment 2, dated 17 April 1995. Type: II - Low infrared reflective pigments. Class: C1 - Barium chromate based corrosion inhibitor. Color Dark Green in accordance with FED-STD-595B, dated December 15, 1989, and Change Notice 1, dated January 11, 1994, color number 34052 A kit shall consist of Component A and Component B to produce 3.78 liters (1 gallon) of admixed coating. Age on delivery shall not exceed two months. Date of reinspection shall be 12 months after the date of manufacture. The Clean Air Act (40th Code of Federal Regulations, Subpart 63.741-63.753) designate "Aerospace Manufacturing and Rework Facilities" as a regulated emissions source category. Clean Air Act rules limit the volatile organic hazardous air pollutant (VOHAP) content of several types of solvents and coatings used within this industrial category. Suppliers are asked to complete and submit the "Aerospace Manufacturing Coating, Stripper, and Maskant" compliance certificates as applicable. This certificate is located at the following web site: http://www.r6.gsa.gov/fss/hac/ [Environmental Issues] Certificates need only be generated once for each applicable coating, stripper or maskant. When, and if, a supplier reformulates a coating, stripper or maskant, a new certificate would need to be generated. EXCEPTION(S) TO TECHNICAL DOCUMENT QPL-85582-4, dated 30 December 1994 and Amendment 2, dated 17 April 1995. Add: Deft, Inc., Type I, Class C2, Part Number 65Y001, authorized by letter 4123, Ser. 434100A/7.4527, dated July 11, 2001, from Naval Air Systems Command, Department of the Navy, Materials Protection Branch. ITEM MARKING In addition to the requirements of Military Specification MIL-PRF-85582C, dated September 30, 1997, page 15, paragraph 6.10 Special Instructions, the marking requirements shall include the following: (1) National Stock Number (NSN). (2) Specification number (Including type, class, and color number) as applicable. (3) Manufacturer's name and part number. (4) Kit Name and Component Part. (5) Lot Number. (6) Date of expiration or reinspection (month and year). (7) Instructions for use. (8) Storage Instructions. PACKAGING The components of each kit shall be packaged in multiple friction closure metal cans in accordance with the supplier's normal commercial practice, provided that there will be no interaction chemically or physically with the contents so as to damage the container or alter the strength, quality, or purity of the contents. The containers shall be closed in a manner that will insure that the contents will not spill or leak from the containers during shipment, handling, storage and redistribution. Components of each individual kit shall be further packed together in kit form that will prevent accidental separation of the components during shipment, handling, storage and redistribution. PACKING Kits smaller than 2 gallons packaged and assembled as specified above shall be packed in a close-fitting corrugated fiberboard box conforming to Section 6(c), Rule 41 of the Uniform Freight Classification and Item 22 of the National Motor Freight Classification. Closure of the boxes shall be in accordance with Section 7 of Rule 41 of the Uniform Freight Classification. The filled boxes shall not weigh more than 65 pounds. Pails and drums shall meet the applicable requirements of the National Motor Freight Classification, Uniform Freight Classification, and Department of Transportation regulations. MARKING All unit, intermediate, transport packages and unit loads shall be marked for delivery to civilian activities in accordance with the FED-STD-123G, dated June 6, 1997, or marked for delivery to military activities in accordance with MIL-STD-129N, dated 15, May, 1997, as applicable. PLEASE INCLUDE A COPY OF MATERIAL SAFETY DATA SHEET AND DATE OF SHIPMENT AFTER RECEIPT OF ORDER WITH QUOTE.
