Description
NA . Marmet New Lock Project includes construction of 110x800-ft lock on the right descending bank landward of existing locks. In addition to the new lock, the project includes a downstream guide wall 1000? long, an upstream guide wall 1830? long, and an upst ream guard wall approximately 996? long. Project operations facilities at the lock site will include an operations building, a visitor?s area, a harbor for operation?s fleet and a decant structure. Spoil material will be disposed in the existing wetland ar ea of Burning Springs Creek located downstream from the existing locks on the right bank. Burning Springs Creek will be relocated. The onsite mitigation plan utilizes a low maintenance design and includes a series of 2 wetlands and baffled weirs along the relocated Burning Springs Creek. The systems aquatic impact mitigation consists of a gravel/cobble blanket of concrete rubble and excavated rock placed on near-shore benches in the Marmet pool. All responsive proposals will be evaluated utilizing the follo wing factors (in descending order of importance): (A) Project Management, Quality Control, Key Personnel and Schedule; 2. Planned Technical Execution of Key Work Elements; 3. Experience and Past Performance. It is anticipated that the magnitude of this pro ject shall be between $100,000,000.00 and $250,000,000.00. Delivery shall be completed within 2373 calendar days after receipt of notice to proceed. Solicitation documents will be issued on CD and will be available 17 December 2001. There will be no charge for solicitation documents. This solicitation can be requested online at www.lrh.usace.army.mil/CT. To be eligible for contract award, all contractors must be registered in the DoD Central Contractor Registration (CCR). Register via the CCR Internet site at http://www.ccr.gov or by contacting the DoD Electronic Commerce Information Center at 1-800-334-3414. A Pre-Proposal Conference will be held on 16 January 2002, 10:00 a.m. at Marmet Locks and Dam, Maintenance Building.
