SOLICITATION NUMBER: DTFA14-02-R-34197 ESTIMATED PRICE: $750,000 -- $1.5 Million ESTIMATED MAILING DATE: January 16, 2002 POINT OF CONTACT: Kathryn Thomas DESCRIPTION: BASE BUILDING AND AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL TOWER MODERNIZATION, CLEVELAND HOPKINS INT?L AIRPORT, CLEVELAND, OH. The FAA is seeking experienced general contractors for modernization of the existing 3rd, 4th and 5th floors of the Administrative Base Building and spaces in the shaft of the existing Air Traffic Control Tower, Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, Cleveland, OH. The work generally consists of, but is not limited to selective demolition of existing spaces, modernization of selected spaces, general mechanical and electrical work. All work shall be performed in accordance with the FAA directed sequence of work and the spaces will remain occupied and business conducted as usual. The Airport Authority will be performing modernization work simultaneously in adjacent areas. The anticipated construction start date is March 2002. The following notice is for information purposes for minority, woman-owned, and disadvantaged enterprises: The DOT OSDBU has programs to assist minority, woman-owned, and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for DOT related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to surety against losses. Loans are also av! ailable under the DOT Short Term Lending Program at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
