Description
NA Request For Information ? Mobile Integrated Remains Collection System The U.S. Army Soldier Biological and Chemical Command (SBCCOM)/Product Manager-Soldier Support is conducting a Request For Information (RFI) for relevant technology, methods and techniques applicable to preserving and/or retarding decomposition of human re mains on the battlefield. Information on preservation technologies that present alternatives to conventional mechanical refrigeration systems is of particular interest. Technologies identified will be evaluated for potential application for use in the M obile Integrated Remains Collection System (MIRCS). The MIRCS is a new development program with operational requirements as follows: contained in a 8? x 8? x 20? ISO compatible shelter; expandable to provide administrative and processing work areas in a ddition to a storage area for 16 to 20 remains where a means to prevent further decomposition will be employed; transportable by C130 aircraft, helicopter sling load, sea, rail and Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Truck Load Handling System (LHS); onboard power source sufficient to run all equipment and accessories; operable in temperatures from ?25 F to 120 F. Once potential technologies have been reviewed, a Technology Identification and Review Meeting will take place at the Soldier Systems Center in Natick, MA. At this meeting, submitters will have the opportunity to present and discuss their concepts with th e Technical Review Team made up of subject matter experts. All interested firms, regardless of size, are encouraged to respond to this RFI by submitting an explanation of their technology, its state of maturity, and estimates on resources needed to go from R&D to field demonstration. This request is for informati onal purposes only and is not an Invitation for Bid (IFB) or Request for Proposal (RFP). Responses may be sent to via email or by regular mail to: Dennis Magnifico Natick Solder Center/ SBCCOM ATTN: AMSSB-RSC-BB(N) 15 Kansas St. Natick, MA. 01760 Tel (508) 233-4432; Fax (508) 233-5223 Email magnificod@natick.army.mil
