- THIS IS A PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE ONLY!!! This contemplated action will be a small business set-aside based on previous contact with industry for those entities possessing NIACS Code 333924 with 750 or fewer employees. A draft RFP is estimated to be posted February 2002, followed by an Industry Day to be held at Eglin AFB, FL the last week of February 2002. The Combat Support Systems Program Office, Contracting Division, has a requirement to produce, and logistically support a Universal Munitions Trailer. The Universal Munitions Trailer will be replacing the current MHU 141 and MHU 110 trailers. The Universal Munitions Trailer will be used to transport Air to Ground and Air-to-Air munitions to the flightline. The trailer will be developed using Performance Specifications provided by the government. A draft copy of the Performance Specification is attached to this Synopsis for downloading at the AAC Contracting Electronic Bulletin Board under Air Force Material Command at www.eps.gov. Please remember this is only a draft copy. This information will be updated periodically and expanded as additional information becomes available. The Government intends to issue a request for proposal in March 2002 and will procure up to 1712 trailers over an 8-year period after development and testing. The RFP will be paperless and will be released using the Electronic Posting System (EPS) located at www.eps.gov. The RFP will contain files using in MS Word 9.0 and MS Excel 9.0. DO NOT request any documents in writing. A registration page for the solicitation will be available at the solicitation web page. The firm selected for this procurement will be expected to produce the first four prototypes for test and evaluation within nine months of contract award with exercise of the full production option projected for October 2003. In addition, logistical support required will consist of developing a system operational and maintenance technical manual, and providing interim contractor support for the entire system for a specified period of time.
