Description

U.S. GOVERNMENT SOLE SOURCE ANNOUNCEMENT, ATLANTA, GA. As required by 41 U.S.C. 253(f), this serves to provide notice that the U.S. Government intends to negotiate a sole source procurement for a succeeding lease of approximately 16,906 Rentable Square Feet of office and related space at the Drake/Hollings Buildings in Koger Center, Atlanta, GA. A new lease contract will be created to reflect a 10-year, 5-year firm term. This project is required as the need for this space is based on the Government's ability to continue to do business, without disruption at this location. This space is mission critical as it is part of the agency's Submission Processing Campus. This particular space houses 119 employees, all set up in systems workstations. Relocating would incur substantial moving costs include furniture expenses, raised flooring costs, information systems costs for telephone, wiring and setup, physical moving expenses, contractor costs, and HVAC costs. There is an overriding security concern that requires that the agency be adjacent to each other (there are 5 other leases at this location for the agency), so that protective services would be able to better respond in case of emergency, as well as performing their daily functions. It is economically advantageous to have them remain at it's current location.
