Description
The Federal Aviation Administration is creating a Qualified Vendors List (QVL) to perform several upcoming Sustaining Back-Up Emergency Communications (S-BUEC) projects within the Great Lakes Region. A sample of the scope of work consists of the following: 1)Install tilt-down pole, bullhorn antenna mount and winch; 2)Install underground RF and aerial cables; 3)Install lightning protection system; and, 4)Miscellaneous civil and electrical tasks. Interested firms are requested to submit a letter of interest to the stated Contracting Officer. Small economically disadvantaged firms as well as 8(a) certified firms are highly encouraged to respond. Firms, who have not successfully performed work for the Great Lakes Region within the last year, will be required to fill out and return a Screening Information Request application. Those firms, who have successfully completed a project for the Great Lakes Region, shall state in their letter the project completed and the co! ntract number. Project requirements may be compiled together when within close proximity. Some requirements may be set-aside for only SEDB and /or 8(a) participation. The application will request firms to identify the location(s) they wish to perform work at. The construction cost, per project, is estimated to be between $25,000 and $50,000. Interested firms should request a pre-qualification Screening Information Request application via letter or fax at 847/294-7801. No telephone requests will be accepted. REQUESTS FOR THE SIR APPLICATION WILL BE ACCEPTED ON OR BEFORE CLOSE OF BUSINESS JANUARY 4, 2002. Firms, who return the SIR application, will be notified in writing of their status. Requests For Offers are anticipated to be available by February 2002 with anticipated Spring 2002 construction start dates. This Notice is for informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Sm! all and Disadvantaged Business Utilization, has a program to assist small businesses, small businesses owned and controlled by a socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, and women-owned concerns to acquire short-term working capital assistance for transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
