Description
In accordance with the Federal Aviation Administration Acquisition Management System (FAAAMS), the FAA Western-Pacific Region hereby publicly announces that it intends to solicit a Request for Offer (RFO).

The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, transportation and services required to perform the demolition of the existing East Wing Burbank TRACON facility. This work includes, but is not limited to, abatement of hazardous materials, demolition of existing buildings, demolition of utilities, site improvements, site grading. This work also includes the restoration of the site after demolition activities and asphalt paving.

The following Contractor qualifications must be met in order to competitively bid on this project: 1) The Contractor shall have a minimum of five (5) years experience in abatement of asbestos, including removal and disposal in the State of California, 2) The Contractor shall have a minimum of five (5) years experience with building demolition of concrete buildings in the State of California, 3) The Contractor shall have a minimum of five (5) years experience in foundation work, including experience with the anticipated subsurface materials, water conditions, and gas, sewage and drainage techniques.

A mandatory site visit will be held at a date to be determined later.

The FAA will evaluate offers and will award a contract based on ?best value,? giving due consideration to: 1) the total cost to the FAA 2) specialized experience of the firm, 3) capability and capacity of firm to accomplish the work, 4) past performance on same or similar work and 5) financial capacity/bonding information.

The first ten (10) interested contractors are being solicited for this project and will be added to a Bidder?s Mailing List. Requests for solicitations must be received in writing to this office no later than 2:00 PM (WP Time) on January 7, 2002. Any requests received after that time, regardless of how transmitted will not be accepted. Requests must include the solicitation number, DTFA08-02-R-00750, company?s name, address, telephone numbers and a point of contact name. Verbal/Telephone requests will not be accepted. A Public Bid Opening will not be held. A solicitation package for this project will not be issued until the closing date of this announcement to ensure equal response time. The FAA may make an award without communications or negotiations, however, communications and/or negotiations may be conducted to determine the best value to the FAA.
