Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial services prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The Defense Logistic Information Systems (DLIS) intends to enter into a firm-fixed price contract. This procurement will be awarded based upon low price and a determination of brand name or equivalent. This procurement is unrestricted with a North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code of 421610. This is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) Number SP4410-02-Q-7001. This request is to replace the existing UPS battery systems (92 jars 4DX-17B Exide batteries) and de-install existing batteries and dispose of the existing batteries in accordance with EPA regulation (must provide a copy of Disposal Certificate). The existing 4DX-17B Exide batteries are still under warranty. The batteries have failed long before they should have. The batteries are failing due to a manufacturing defect. The following clauses will be included in the award: FAR 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors Commercial Items, language within this clause regarding submittal of the SF1449 is not applicable. FAR 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions Commercial Item; FAR 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions required to implement statutes or Executive Orders Commercial Items. The following clauses under 52.212-5 will apply: (b) (11), (12), (13), (14), (15), (21), and (c) (1), (2). The following clauses under DFAR apply: 252.204.7004, Required Central Contractor Registration and 252.225-7036. Wage Determination Number 94-2277 MI, South Western dated 05/31/2001 is applicable to this RFQ. Copies of the FAR clauses can be found on the internet at http://farsite.hill.af.mil/vffara.htm. Copies of the DFAR clauses can be found on the internet at http://farsite.hill.af.mil/vfdfara.htm. All eligible, responsible sources may submit an offer. Quotes are to be received no later than 4:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on Dec 17, 2001. Quotes will be accepted by facsimile at 616-961-4474 or e-mail.
